Poor mechanics hurt my ear

They are stunning and I want to love them. However, the longer earring in the pair does not stay securely clasped. I kept having to tighten it. It also does not stay perpendicular to my ear but rather the weight pulls down on the back and causes it to poke into my ear. After wearing both earrings, the ear that had the shorter earring in was fine, but the ear with the longer earring was painful and red. Both earrings need to be worn in comfort.
